Biography
I am a trial lawyer who focuses on obtaining just compensation for folks injured due to the negligence of others. I became a lawyer to fight for people who have the deck stacked against them—for those who feel that justice is out of their reach.
I was born and raised in Naperville and graduated from Waubonsie Valley Highschool. I attended law school at Northern Illinois University and decided to establish a career practicing law in the Chicago suburban area because this is my home and I care about the people where I am from. I started advocating for the injured shortly after starting law school, as I clerked for two years with the Collins Law firm in Naperville, Illinois. While working there, I witnessed firsthand the power and purpose associated with obtaining justice for clients who were wronged. I decided to dedicate my career to helping the injured.
After finishing school and being admitted to the bar, I joined a small firm in Rosemont, Illinois and continued advocating for clients injured in car accidents, animal attacks, and premises liability accidents.
After a few years of honing my skills and gaining valuable courtroom litigation experience throughout the Chicagoland area, I transitioned to a larger Chicago based law firm that focused on Medical Malpractice and Nursing Home Abuse/Neglect litigation. For years while working at this Chicago firm, I managed a large diverse caseload of personal injury matters throughout the state, including numerous complex medical malpractice and nursing home abuse cases. I recovered millions for my clients and successfully settled countless cases via mediation, arbitration, and pre-suit settlement.
To work closer to my home in Geneva and spend more time with my family, I transitioned to an in-house corporate counsel position in Naperville focusing on health insurance subrogation. In the years working as corporate counsel for a health insurance subrogation company, I gained extensive experience in the complex realm of personal injury subrogation. Having previously represented various public and private health insurance plans seeking reimbursement from injured people’s settlements, I am well versed in the health insurance company’s playbook and recovery strategies. I use this knowledge to ensure the best possible results for my injured clients when resolving liens or health insurance subrogation interests. By knowing from the inside how these health insurance companies approach subrogation, I can ensure the greatest possible recovery for my client and minimize the health insurance plan’s subrogation interest.
The diversity of perspectives to which I was exposed has made me the compassionate fighter that I am today. I enjoy getting to know my clients and working hard to achieve best results on their behalf. I now have approximately 20 years of experience litigating claims throughout the state of Illinois. I have participated in hundreds of mediations, thousands of depositions, and countless pre-trial settlement conferences.
I’m a resident of Geneva, IL with my wife and two children for over 10 years, and enjoy everything the Fox Valley River Valley and Tri-City area have to offer. I have previously lived and worked in Boulder, Colorado, DeKalb, Illinois, and Chicago. I also enjoy film, theater, music, cycling, nature, and rooting for Chicago’s sports teams.
